QMonitor Jobs
Reduce the manual burden on DBAs by scheduling estate-wide maintenance with parallel execution limits, automating queries or host commands, and autofixing configuration issues.
Flexible Job Types & Concurrency
Define and configure scheduled tasks to run T-SQL scripts across instances or arbitrary commands on agents. Fine-tune performance with advanced execution controls and safety guards.
-
Dual Job Types: Choose Execute Query to run T-SQL against instances (via Instance, Group, or Tag targeting) or Execute Command for host-level operations.
-
Parallelism & Resource Limits: Configure Max Concurrent Instances (sequential or parallel execution) to prevent saturating CPU, I/O, or network during heavy maintenance like backups.
-
Sysadmin Security Guard: Built-in safeguards require explicit instance acknowledgment when executing jobs under high-privilege credentials.
Intelligent Scheduling & History
Streamline operations using recurring cron expressions or one-time triggers. Inspect execution outputs and exit codes via the comprehensive job history log.

QMonitor Data Collection & Protection
QMonitor collects only technical data from SQL Server system views, Dynamic Management Views, performance counters, and operational metadata. Detailed data is retained for 30 days, with aggregated data kept for up to two years. Regional agents keep data in its region of reference. We do not collect data from application tables or any business data, such as customer records, transactions, documents, or application content.
What QMonitor collects
Depending on the enabled monitoring and compliance features, QMonitor may collect:
-
Sessions, active/wait requests and query statistics
-
CPU, memory, storage, I/O, performance metrics and Query Store data
-
SQL Server Agent jobs and execution history
-
Instance, database configuration and High Availability/Disaster Recovery status
-
Security and compliance metadata
-
Backup, database, server, operating system and infrastructure information
How we preserve diagnostic information
QMonitor uses approximately 74 distinct system-level queries to collect monitoring, performance, configuration, security, and compliance data. For individual instances, SQL statement literals can also be anonymized.
WHERE name = 'John Doe'
can be transformed into:
WHERE name = '<value>'
-
This preserves diagnostic information without exposing the original value
-
All data is encrypted in transit and protected
-
Within our protection systems there are advanced encryption, security and access control mechanisms
